Ready For The “Bonfire Battle”?

The Dripping Springs Tigers sit at 8-0 as they head into their game against the Pflugerville Hendrickson Hawks Friday Oct 24th. The Tigers are favored to win which would set up an a matchup of two undefeated teams at the annual “Bonfire Battle” against the Lake Travis Cavaliers on Oct. 31. The Cavaliers are the defending Class 4A state champions sitting at #2 in the polls this year and are bitter cross-town rivals of the Tigers. Last year, the Tigers were only 3-7 but they took the eventual state champions to the wire 34-24. Dripping Springs has surprised pretty much everyone this year. They began the season ranked #140 and have steadily moved up the polls are are now the 29th ranked team in the state. The teams are 7-7 vs. each other since 1994 but the Cavaliers have won the last five in a row
