Notes:
The dymanic brother duo of Tyren and Kyren Watts has turned the program at New Waverly around. The Bulldogs are a Top 25 2A team now instead of the team everyone wants to play at Homecoming. Look for them to end the regular season at 8-2 or 9-1 and antoher trip to at least the Regionals. They were no match for Daingerfield last year but I bet they would like a rematch this year.

Notes:
Daingerfield was dominating last season and this year they could even be better. They return 12 starters that include three all state players and 25 lettermen. A good game to watch this year is when they play Celina. The Tigers won 28-20 last year which made the state take notice. Look or another chmapionship game run this year. They are loaded on both sides of the ball.

Notes:
Year in, year out, Smithson Valley is one of the most solidy coached teams in the state. They dont make mistakes. This year they do not have a lot of starters coming back but the defense will be solid. With that being said….it will be another 10+ win season for the Rangers. It will be a tough battle for the district 26-5A title with San Antonio Madison. Look for them to go 8-2 or 9-1 in the regular season and they will be a tough out again in the playoffs. I would expect at least a quarterfinal appearance.

History:

12 consecutive 9+ wins in season

Notes:
Stratford in on an incredible streak and it will not end this year. The Elks are a top 5 team in Class 1A. A pre-season prediction could be a rematch of last years Division II Championship game with the Elks taking on Cayuga again. They have lots of offensive firepower coming back and will be a very tough out in the playoffs. They should go 9-1 or 10-0 in the regular season. Their 1 loss would happen during their game with Canadian (last years Division I Champion who happens to be in their district).

Dallas Highland Park has more wins than any other team in the state of Texas and they will add another 10+ wins again this yeear. Notes:
Devine will battle for that 3rd playoff spot in district 29-3A this year. They are not retuning a lot from their playoff team from last year. They should be able to add on to thier 7 year winning streak though and finish the season at 6-4 or 7-3. A run of two rounds into the playoffs would be a success.
