2A Refugio avenged last years 27-7 loss to Blanco with a 22-14 win this year.

4A Denton Guyer avenged a regular season 50-29 loss to Denton Ryan with a 28-25 win.

5A Austin Westlake avenged last years 24-21 loss to San Antonio Clark with a 37-20 win.

4A Pearland Dawson avenged a regular season loss to Friendswood with a 28-11 win.

5A Euless Trinity was able to repeat with a 47-17 win over Arlington who they beat 48-14 in the same round last year.

Highlights:

Three teams are going for the 3-peat this year. 1A Canadian, 4A Austin Lake Travis and 5A Katy are trying to do what Waco (1925-1927), La Marque (1995-97) and Southlake Carroll (2004-2006) have only done. Sealy (1994-1997) and Celina (1998-2001) are the only schools to win 4 in a row.

5A Euless Trinity is averaging nearly 55 points per game in the playoffs

4A Kerrville Tivy Quarterback Johnny Manziel ran for 138 yards, passed for 272 yards and scored 4 TDs in a 38-31 win over Port Lavaca Calhoun.

1A Goldthwaite got another shutout with a 34-0 win over Joaquin. The Eagles have shut out 8 of their 13 opponents.

2A Bushland played their closest game of the year with a 35-28 win over Crane. Before that all of their games have been deceided by at least 26 points.

4A Denton Guyer Defensive Back Josh Stewart blocked an extra point and a field goal and also returned an interception for a TD during their 28-25 win over Denton Ryan.

2A Blanco Running Back Layton Dworaczyk finished his season with 2,582 yards and 38 TDs rushing this season

5A Round Rock Stony Points will play in their second consecutive semifinal game this upcoming week. They lost to eventual DI champion Allen, 23-21 last year.

3A Sinton Quarterback Josh Harrison passed for 431 yards and 3 TDs in a 34-27 overtime loss to La Grange.

3A Gilmer Quarterback Darian Godfrey ran for 149 yards and five touchdowns and threw for another score during their wild 42-36 win over Cuero.

4A Denton Guyers defense and special teams played great during their 28-25 win over Denton Ryan. The defense picked off five Scotty Young passes and special teams 3 blocked kicks (two extra points and one field goal),

1A Albany Running Back Elijah Hudson ran for 201 yards and 4 TDs in a 52-13 win over Lindsay.

4A Longview was down 20-0 to Waxahachie before scoring the games last 29 points for a 50-26 vicroty. They will be making their 6th appearance in a State Semi Final game.

5A Katy Cinco Ranch advances to the state semifinals for the first time in school history this week.

4A Denton Guyer and Longview will match up again in the semifinals like they did last year. Longview defeated Guyer 41-30 in 2008.

5A Abilene Running Back Herschel Sims ran for 212 yards and scroed 4 TDs in a 35-7 win over Arlington Bowie.

3A Abilene Wylie trailed 27-24 with 2:44 left to Lucas Lovejoy. They then went on a 11 play 64 yard drive and scored a TD in the final 8 seconds to win 31-27.

Denison Quarterback Jordan Taylor ran for 223 yards and 2 TDs, passed for 189 yards and 2 TDs during their 49-35 win over Sulphur Springs.
