Coaching Changes — Austin Akins

Austin Akins has hired Jeff Mayfield to replace Mike Zierlein as the Eagles next head coach. Mayfield was the defensive coordinator last season.
Zierlein left to become the first coach at Clear Falls in League City. In three seasons at Akins, Zierlein was 4-25.
Akins went 2-7 last season and won their first district victory since 2006. The Eagles have never had a winning season in their 8 year history. For the next two seasons, they will be part of District 15-5A. Other teams in the district are Austin High, Austin Anderson, Austin Bowie, Austin Westlake and Del Valle.
