Coaching Changes — Magnolia West

Magnolia West has hired Shawn Bell as their next head coach. Bell will replace replace Dave Joiner who resigned. Joiner was left go even though there was lots of player and parent support for him to continue being the head coach.

Joiner had been the Mustangs football coach since the school opened four years ago. The first varsity season was two years ago. His 2 year record with the Mustangs was 6-13.

Bell comes from Clifton where he spent only 1 season where the Cubs went 3-7. He is the son of China Spring coach Mark Bell and was a former Baylor Bear quarterback. He worked an an assistant at Round Rock Stoney Point in 2007 and was the offensive coordinator at China Spring in 2007.

Magnolia West will be in District 17-4A with Brenham, Houston Northbrook, Spring Woods, Houston Stratford, Magnolia, Montgomery and Waller.
