Coaching Changes — Van

Van has hired Jared Moffatt as their next athletic director and head coach. Moffatt will replace Brady Pennington who left to become an assistant head coach and quarterbacks coach at New Caney Porter.
Pennington resigned after the 2009 season after being the athletic director and head coach for the last eight seasons. He had an overall 62-26 record with five playoff appearances while leading the Vandals.
Moffatt arrives at Van after being the offensive coordinator at Denton Ryan for the past eight years. Prior to that he spent one year in the Ryan Middle School system and three years as an assistant at Irion County.
Van will be part of District 14-3A along with Canton, Emory Rains, Lindale, Quinlan Ford and Wills Point. The Vandals are on a streak of 7 consecutive winning seasons.
