Wylie will be the host of this SQT. Here are the pools, players to watch and of course our predictions. Jay Darneal who has coached a 7-on-7 team 7 consecutive years to the state tournament, been a coach, officiated, written, broadcasted, and played football will pick with us!!

Pool A: Wylie, Dallas Jesuit, Arlington Martin, Plano

Plano has already qualified for the state tournament. Wylie has gone 3-3 in SQT play this year while Dallas Jesuit has gone 1-5. Arlington Martin has a 4-2 SQT record this year and will bring a ton of talent but they have accepted a bid to go to the Nike 7-on-7 national tournament that will be held the same time as the state championships. They will be led by QB Russell Bellomy 438 yards 6 TDS rushing 1546 yards 13 TDs passing, RB Danzel Williams 1221 yards rushing 22 TDs 21-255 2 TDs Rec. Oklahoma committ, WR Wesley Hawthorne 28-285 3 TDs Rec., LB Deryck Gildon 50 tackles 1 sack COMMITTED to TCU, DB Steven Caldwell, DB Ryan Pollard and DB Devonta Burns 102 tackles 2 INTs COMMITTED to Texas A&M.

Pool B: Wylie East, Rockwall Heath, South Garland, North Mesquite

Rockwall Heath will be playing in their first SQT of the year and will be led by QB Ross Hudson. North Mesquite has gone 2-1 in SQT play including a 41-40 win over South Garland. They will bring a ton of talent like RB Joe Bergeron 729 yards 5 TDs 3 star Texas Commitment, WR Chris Butler 17-273 2 TDs Rec., WR Dominic Gaines, WR Dezmin Lewis, LB Roderick Harris, LB Dezmond Scott, DB Jeremy Young, DB Jared Brackens 75 tackles 2 INTs and DB Travion Pointer. South Garland has gone 2-4 in SQT play this year and will feature RB John Lacleur and LB Eric White. Wylie East has gone 1-7 this year.

Pool C: Cedar Hill, West Mesquite, Duncanville, Plano East

West Mesquite has already qualified for the state tournament. Cedar Hill is 3-1 in SQT play including a loss to West Mesquite in the semifinals of the Mesquite SQT. They will showcase a wealth of talent in QB/WR Driphus Jackson 1506 yards 6 TDS passing, RB Johnathan Abercrombie, RB Ronnie Green, RB Cameron Porter, WR Tiquarrio Combs 6-83 1 TD Rec., WR Lovett Gibson 14-260 6 TDs Rec., WR Brian Reed, DB Donovan Matthews, DB Demarcus Robinson, DB Trendall Stevenson and DB Denzell Henson. Duncanville has a 4-2 SQT record and will feature QB Divan Ealy 355 yards rushing 1283 yards 14 TDS passing and WR Jalen Park. Plano East has a 3-3 SQT record and will be led by RB Martin Terrance, WR Ryan Garrey, LB Sam Trotter and DB Lyndell Johnson 72 tackles 3 INTs 4 PB.

Pool D: Dallas Skyline, Arlington, Frisco Liberty, Mesquite

Dallas Skyline has gone 3-1 in SQT play this year losing at the Mesquite SQT semifinal game against Plano. They will bring a lot of talent like RB Josh Wilkins 612 yards 12 TDs rushing, RB Sammy Hill 3 star, WR Paul Dotson, LB Anthony Wallace, LB Michael Jones, LB Mike Moore and DB Franklin Shannon. Arlington has a 3-6 record this year and will feature one of the best WR's in the state in Miles Onyegbule 52-616 9 TDs Texas Commitment and LB Laderice Sanders TCU committ. Frisco Liberty has a 4-3 SQT record. They lost at the Plano West SQT semifinal to Plano West. They will be led by WR Cameron Brown 20-202 3 TD Rec. and WR Malcolm Hill. Mesquite has gone 1-2 in SQT play and will feature RB Jaylon Terry.
