Sealy vs. La Grange : LSG was there!! La Grange started things up by returning the opening kickoff 100 yards for a TD. Everyone including the Sealy defense (who was coming on the field as the returning ran by them) thought he was down but not wistle blew and he took it the distance. After that it was all Sealy...at the end of the 1st quarter Sealy led 21-6 and had outgained La Grange 129-35. At half it was 36-12 Sealy and the yardage was worse 317-113. The Tigers went on to win 50-12 and proved that they are worthy of our #4 ranking in Class 3A. They have a smothering defense and have a run/pass ration at 50%. It will be take a great effort to beat them. Nexts weeks matchup at #5 3A Wimberley will be a classic.

Converse Judson stopped San Antonio Churchill just inches short of the goal line during a two-point conversion attempt to win 28-27.

The Austin Lake Travis defense intercepted a pass in the end zone with two minutes left to earn a hard fought victory over Kerrville Tivy 37-33. Tivy's star quarterback Johnny Manziel rushed for 272 yards and four TDs and passed for another 195 yards. The Cavaliers needed a 4th quarter comeback when Tivy took an early 19-0 lead.

Austin Westlake quarterback Lewis Guilbeau ran for 3 TDs and passed for 3 TDs to lead them to a 59-35 victory over Pflugerville. Westlake who is last years 5A Division II runner up finally got their first win of the season after losses to Austin Lake Travis, Abilene Cooper and A&M Consolidated.

Plano West blocked North Mesquite field goal attempt on the last play of the game to earn a 17-14 win. North Mesquite was attempting the field goal because West had just come up with a goal line stand when North Mesquite missed on 3 tries from the 1 yard line.

Round Rock Stony Point showed that they are one of the best teams in the state as they took out DeSoto 46-29. Turnovers was the key. With Stony Point up 23-21 in the 3rd....two INT's turned into TDs and that put them up 37-21. Desoto's star quarterback Ryan Polite passed for 339 yards and 3 touchdowns.

The Lufkin defense stopped Longview on a 4th and goal from the 10 play with less than 30 seconds left to secure a 28-21 victory. The Lobos led the game at half 13-0 outgaining Lufkin 240-65. This was Longviews 2nd consecutive week to lose a game in the final seconds. Last week they lost to Allen when the Eagles scored a TD with 20 seconds remaining to win the game.

The Cuero and Port Lavaca Calhoun game featured only 7 passes and one of those was intercepted and returned for a touchdown. The Gobblers were able to get away with a 34-21 victory. Cuero’s star running back Trent Jackson rushed for 386 yards and scored 4 touchdowns. All of Jacksons TD runs were 50 or more yards.

In a surprisingly close game, The Woodlands held off a last minute scoring threat to defeat Tyler Lee 13-6. With a little over two minutes remaining in the game, The Woodlands knocked down a Tyler Lee 4th down pass into the end zone. They were then able to take over and run out the clock.

San Antonio Memorial ended their 43 game losing streak last week with a 19-13 victory over Austin Eastside Memorial. The 43 losses was tied for 7th all-time.

El Paso Coronado star running back Sam Brown is most likely out for the season. He has been diagnosed with an intestinal disease.

Southlake Carroll quarterback Daxx Garman lost his appeal to be reinstated to the team by a vote of 4-0. The UIL ruling means Garman will never be able to play football for Southlake Carroll or any public high school in Texas.
