Whitehouse Receiver Breaks All-Time State Record

Whitehouse Wide Receiver Trey Metoyer is now the all-time receptions leader in Texas High School History. Metoyer entered their Area Playoff game vs. Mesquite Poteet in 3rd place all-time with 243 career receptions. He need 9 more receptions to tie Jordan Shipley, Burnet, 2000-03 and Nati Valdez, Mission, (5A) 1986-88 who had 252 career receptions each.

Whitehouse lost their playoff game but Metoyer caught 15 passes to bring his career total to 258. He also is tied for 6th place with 3,776 career yards. He is tied with Eric Olszewski, Tomball Concordia, 1989-92. His 52 career TD receptions ranks him 3rd all-time behind Jordan Shipley, Burnet, 2000-03 (73) and Broderic Jones, Ennis, (4A) 1999-2001 (55).

For the season, he finishes with 106 catches for 1531 yards and 23 TDs. In the all-time season rankings he ranks tied for 11th in receptions along with SHAYNE WILKINSON, Lubbock Coronado, (5A) 2008. His yardage is good enough for 43rd place all-time and his TDS puts him into a tie for 18th place.
