Johnston Takes Over For A Legend At Newton

Old Head Coach: Curtis Barbay -- Passed away after the 4th game of the season.  Barbay was a coaching legend with a career record of 317-96-6.  Coach Barbay ranks 5th in all-time coaching wins and his teams won two state championships.

New Head Coach: W.T. Johnston -- Was defensive coordinator at Kirbyville.  Johnston was also an assistant coach on Barbays staff for 17 years.

Team News: The Eagles will start 2011 without Barbay as their Head Coach for the first time in 37 years!!  They currently  have 17 CONSECUTIVE WINNING SEASONS (all 8+ win seasons).
