New Caney Hires Long Time Van Coach

2011 Coaching Change: New Caney Eagles

Old Head Coach: Tim Hensley -- Resigned after leading the Eagles to a 3-7 record last season. Hensley has been an assistant coach at Copperas Cove 2005-2009, Cypress-Fairbanks ISD and Bay City.

New Head Coach: Brady Pennington -- Was assistant at New Caney Porter last season. Before that he was the head coach at 3A Van from 2002-2009. During his 8 years their he lead the Vandals to a 62-26 record. He was also an assistant at Van from 1984-2000 and an assistant at Brenham from 2000-2001. His Van team in 2008 made it to the quarterfinals. Van went 1-19 in the previous two seasons before he took over as head coach.

Team News: Pennington will be the 3rd head coach in as many seasons. The Eagles have not had a winning season since 2004. They are currently on a 6 year losing streak and have gone 6-23 in the past three seasons.
