Interesting pool with HISD powerhouses Lamar and Chavez in the same pool. These were the two state qualifiers at this SQT last year. As everyone thought it came down to game 3 between these two and Lamar came away with the victory and advanced.

La Marque makes their first showing since 2008. Interesting point is that their new head coach is from the previously mentioned Houston Chavez. La Marque looked dominant. Bay City made their best showing in a while. I would not be surprised to see them in College Station.
