CLASS 2A CHAMPIONSHIP PREDICTIONS

Here is how LSG predicts the 2011 season will end.

Division I: Godley will have a great year for the 3rd consecutive season going 22-2 over the previous two seasons. New Boston will represent the first two regions in the championship for their first appearance. Hempstead will have a great run in 2011 after back to back 7 win seasons. Tatum is the only veteran school, having been in four previous championship games. New Boston looks to be the favorite to win their first ever football championship in what is sure to be a great game with Tatum.

Region I Champion: Godley Wildcats

Region II Champion: New Boston Lions

Region III Champion: Tatum Eagles

Region IV Champion: Hempstead Bobcats

Championship: New Boston Lions win over Tatum Eagles

In the other bracket Refugio will defeat Lexington this year in the semifinal rematch to face Omaha Paul Pewitt and play in their fifth championship game. Refugio is then favored to go on an win their first championship since 1982.

What about Abernathy antelopes they had a great season and could possibly upset idalou when they meet they have upset so many in their district I don’t see why they can’t do the same to idalou?

Brody…that would be a good matchup to see. The Antelopes are having their best season since 2001. Coach Darrell Daily has done a great job there. He went 3-7 in his first year as a head coach in 2009 and then 6-5 last year. They are 9-1 so far this year. Be sure and call in reports to 713-568-6361. We would love to hear from the Antelopes.
