Week 3 : Highlight Games

Converse Judson 40, San Antonio Churchill 33
Judson running back Quaylon Jones had 315 yards rushing and 5 total touchdwons to lead them to victory. His night included an 85 yard run with just 3 minutes left to hold off Churchill. Judson now leads the all-time series 25-8. Judson remained undefeated is currently ranked #8 in the state.

Lewisville Hebron 10, Stephenville 6
Hebron scored a touchdown with only 28 seconds remaining to get a big win over 4th ranked in 4A Stephenville. The Hawks from Lewisville-Hebron went on an 11 play drive to win the game. They had to conver a 3rd and 19 and a 4th and 15 along the way.

La Marque 68, Freeport Brazosport 3
The Cougars from La Marque have now outscored their last 3 opponents 203-9 after opening up the season with a loss.

Sealy 35, La Grange 16
Sealy now leads the series 11-5 since 1994

Canyon Lake 52, Austin Travis 21
The Canyon Lake Hawks won their homecoming game in big fashion over Austin Travis. The Hawks led 45-0 at half and coasted the rest of the way. Hawk running back Zach Henshaw finished the night with 252 yards on 23 carries and 3 touchdowns. Henshaw now has 935 yards on 113 carries and 10 touchdowns for the season. That is an average of 8.27 yards per carry and 233 yards per game. The Hawks are now 4-0 on the season. The most wins in a season they have had in their now 4 year history is 6 wins.

The Woodlands 23, Tyler Lee 15
The Woodlands are now on a 25 game regular season winning streak.

Tyler Chapel Hill 29, Hallsville 22
The top ranked 3A team, Tyler Chapel Hill was able to hang on for a victory and remain udefeated. They entered the game withough their starting quarterback Avery Saenz and three other starters due to injury. Saenz went down last week with an ankle injury and will be out for 8-10 weeks. He had 10 touchdown passes during the first 2 games of the year. The Bulldogs from Chapel Hill will be playing @ #10 Lindale next week in what is sure to be an LSG Game Of The Week.

Waco 31, Abilene Wylie 15
The Waco Lions had a big 2nd half comeback to get a victory over Abilene Wylie. Wylie led 13-3 at halftime holding Waco's superstar running back Darrell Harris to 83 rushing yards. Harris finished the game with 232 yards though and Waco stormed back for the victory. Harris now has 1,103 yards rushing on 111 carries and 11 Touchdowns. He is averaging 9.94 yards per carry and 275 yards per game.

Fort Bend Elkins 28, Fort Bend Dulles 17
Elkins quarterback Jake Burkhalter had 247 yards passing and 4 touchdowns for the win. Elkins now leads the all-time series 12-6-1.

Stamford 35, Holliday 28
Holliday made it interesting when they returned a Stamford fumble for a touchdown with only 1:10 left in the game. Holliday then converted the two point conversion to tie the game at 28. Stamford was not worried though as it only took them 3 plays to take the lead again with 32 seconds left. Stamford then held on for the victory from there. Stamford quarterback Hagen Hutchinson finished the night with 186 yards passing and 122 yards rushing and 5 total touchdowns. His favorite receiver was Jessie Ramos who had 8 catches for 97 yards. He also returned a PAT interception 95 yards for 2 points. For the year, Ramos has 25 receptions for 560 yards 22.4 avg and 6 touchdowns.

Cibolo Steele 49, San Antonio Southwest 24
The Knights from Cibolo Steele extended the states longest winning streak to 17.

Smithson Valley 28, San Antonio Wagner 17
Smithson Valley's running back Lawrence Mattison ran for 161 yards and scored 4 TDs to lead the Rangers to victory. Smithson Valley leads the all-time series 5-1 since Wagner began varsity play in 2006.
