Aledo’s Defense Steps Up — For The Record: Mann & Gray

The Aledo Bearcats avenged a week 0 loss (48-47) to the Stephenville Yellow Jackets with a big win in the Class 4A Division II Quarterfinals.  They advance to the semifinals to face Corsicana.   After giving up 48 points and 450 yards of offense in week 0, the Bearcat defense shutdown the Yellow Jacket and held them to 190 total yards and 0 points.   This was the 16th consecutive playoff win for Aledo.

For the record, Aledo wide receiver Michael Mann caught 5 passes for 72 yards in the win.  Running back Jonathan Gray finished the night with 18 carries for 195 yards and 1 touchdown.  He had 1 touchdown called back because he taunted on the way to the end zone.  For his career, Mann now has 139 receptions for 2,203 yards and 20 touchdowns.  For the season, Gray now has 3,432 yards on 294 carries and 59 touchdowns (which ties his all-time record that he set last year).   For his career, Gray has 10,468 yards on 1,163 carries and 198 touchdowns.  He totals up 1,196 points and has 49 consecutive 100 yard rushing games.
