Mike Says:
There will be 11 new schools at the 4A level. That is an amazing number.  Looking at the regions, Region I will again feature El Paso schools which will include El Paso Hanks.  Denton Guyer drops back to 4A after 2 pretty impressive years in 5A.  The Fort Worth schools look to split up into 2 separate districts rather than one large one. In region II, District 9 features 2 former powerhouse 3A teams in Lucas Lovejoy and Prosper.  District 13 is always one of my favorites with Sulphur Springs, Tyler John Tyler and Whitehouse.  Region III, District 18 has former 5A Tomball moving down to join 4A powers Brenham and Montgomery.  District 23 will have some of the Fort Bend schools dropping down to 4A to go with Houston Stratford, Friendswood and Pearland Dawson. Finally, someone other than Austin Lake Travis will be the Region IV champ (not to mention state champ).  The Cavaliers look to be taking their 5 championships up to Class 5A.  District 25 will be fun with Marble Falls and their new head coach (Todd Dodge), Cedar Park and Leander. District 31 will have some of the Laredo schools who are dropping down to 4A.

Chris Says:
4A has long been one of those "sweet spot" classes featuring a good sized student body in a small enough area to have a strong sense of community.   The large number of teams dropping down from 5A really will shake things up in 4A.   The first thing you notice in looking at this list is there is no Austin Lake Travis.  There is a lot of speculation that the Cavaliers will take their 5 consecutive state championship titles up to Class 5A.  This opens up a lot of doors.  That combined with Aledo graduating Johnathan Gray means we WILL see two new champions at this 4A level!
