“When Texas was annexed in 1845 it retained the right to fly its flag at the same height as the national flag.”
This is a common myth that I believed to be true for years. I and another lover of Texas History decide to document this truth several years ago. What we found was not what we expected. All State flags follow the U.S. Flag code. All state flags can be flown at the same height as the national flag when on separate poles. There is no special provision for the Texas Flag.
