Notes:
* Will be moving from Region 1 to 3 and will play in that Region for the first time since 1997
* Axtell is the only team on this years schedule that they played last season

  • Mike Says: The Pirates will rely on a solid offensive line and a good backfield this season. Look for them to go 8-2 or 7-3 in the regular season and win the district championship. After that they should go a few rounds into the playoffs. It will be interesting to watch as they play in a new region against all new teams.
  • Chris Says: Its hard to believe Crawford is 8 years removed from their last trip to the state championship - it seems like just yesterday.  In that time, the Pirates have continued to put great teams on the field and notch good records, only missing the playoffs in 2008.  The Pirates will once again be a playoff team as they bring back some good experience on both sides of the ball.  Expect RB, Hunter Fritscher to lead the way on offense behind an experienced offensive line.  If they can get the one-two punch of him and Braden Murphy rocking, it could spell trouble for opponents all season.  Crawford should take the district and the move to Region 3 will make for some interesting matchups come playoff time.
