Coaches Comments: This will be the second season in Coach Anastasio's system. The kids are understanding both sides of the ball better. Calallen, G-P, Calhoun will be fighting it out for the district championship.

* Went 6-5 while making the playoffs under their new coach Anastasio after going 36-15 in previous 4 seasons

Mike Says: The GP Wildcats should have no problems earning their 6th consecutive winning season this year. RB Bisby will be a busy person on offense while DB Erwin will be the leader on defense. Expect them to go 6-4 or 7-3 in the regular season and make the playoffs in the 2nd, 3rd or 4th spot behind Calallen. They will go Division I even with an enrollment under 1,400. A trip to the Regionals is not out of the question.

Chris Says: Gregory-Portland is a team that brings back a lot of talent to a new system put in my former GP graduate Matt Anastasio. He not only has a lot of bodies returning that understand what he is trying to do on the field, he brings back talent like Devin Bisby who lit things up last season running the ball as a Sophomore. The Wildcats are in a tough-as-nails district with teams like Corpus Christi Calallen and Port Lavaca Calhoun, but regardless of where they end up in district, will be a very tough out come playoff time. With so many good teams moving up to Class 5A or dropping down to Class 3A, it appears that Class 4A is wide open this season so anything could happen.
