Mike Says: The Cardinals have built a good tradition in 2A that they will take with them to 3A. Their defense was very good last year holding opponents to 21 points or less 10 times. The offensive leaders will be OL Williams and Ellis while the defense will feature Sanchez and Webb. Look for them to go 7-3 or 8-2 in the regular season. They open the season vs. Celina at Allen's new stadium which will welcome them to 3A football. They will compete with Princeton for the district title.

Chris Says: Melissa has been an absolute power in Class 2A and they still should play well in Class 3A. Expect them to compete for the district title and then have a solid playoff run. The talent at 3A right now is too strong to believe the Cardinals will be able to reach past Quarterfinals.
