  • Mike Says: The Dragons come in as the defending 5A State Champions and with a superstar quarterback in Kenny Hill. Allen will be showing off their new $60 million stadium. You can feel the excitement. This is Texas High School Football!!! Normally, I would pick Southlake to win this one. They have beaten the Eagles with no problems in 5 straight playoff games. But...not this time. The stadium will be packed with Eagle fans...Allen's 600 member band will be going wild. The EAGLES win it 28-27!!
  • Chris Says: Southlake Carroll is the odds on favorite to repeat as state champions, but they have a lot going against them in this season opener.  The writers of the world, would tell you that Allen wins this because of all the hype over the new stadium and the absolute throng of fans.  But, football isn't played by writers, it's played by football players.  For that reason, I think Southlake Carroll upsets the storybook opening to the Eagle's new nest by winning a game you wouldn't even consider picking Allen in if not for the stadium.  The DRAGONS take the win 31-28!!
