McKinney’s Lions lost their first game of the year and dropped to 4-1 after their 35-28 loss to Denton Ryan. McKinney RB/WR/DB Jonathan “Red” Shannon had his best game as a Lion racking up 194 yards and one TD on 29 carries, caught 7 passes for 174 yards and and three TDs. He also had one interception. The Lions went winless last year for the first time in history and moved up to 5A this year as one of the state’s smallest 5A schools in District 10-5A with four of the state’s largest schools- Plano East, Allen, Plano and Plano West.
