DFW:
In Thursday night games, South Garland beat Rowlett 48-28 with Marquel McNac rushing for 180 yards and three touchdowns. Mesquite Poteet’s Tanner Ramsey threw for 223 yards and three scores, and added another rushing touchdown as Poteet crushed Creekview 52-3. South Oak Cliff won a district showdown with Carter, remaining unbeaten with a 21-14 win over the Cowboys. SOC lost three first half fumbles but used two long touchdowns receptions by Fonzale Davis to pull away in the second half. Skyline shutout Sunset 56-0 with Devante Kincade (Ole Miss commit) passing for four toucdowns in little over a quarter and a half. McKinney upset Plano East 24-12 as Jonathan Shannon scored on a pass reception, touchdown run, and 98 yard two point conversion return. Frisco needed four touchdowns from Derek Dieter to edge Frisco Liberty 43-35.

On Friday, Dallas Jesuits Jake Oliver hauled in fifteen passes for 174 yards to become Texas High School’s all time leading receiver with 274 catches, placing him 7th on the all time National record board, but Jesuit lost a heart breaker to Lake Highlands as Mitchell Henton kicked a 42 yard field goal as time expired to edge the Rangers 20-17. Oliver takes aim on Cincinnati Bengal star A.J. Green who is currently in sixth place with 279 career catches.
Oregon commit Dontre Wilson had a really big night in Desoto’s 52-14 win over Midlothian. Wilson rushed for 148 yards and five touchdowns, and caught four passes for 92 yards and one more score. A&M commit Laquivionte Gonzalez had 129 yards and four tds on only 7 touches as Cedar Hill pasted Grand Prairie 68-7. Another Aggie commit, Southlake QB Kenny Hill passed for 294 yards and three scores and rushed for 74 more and two more tds as the Dragons shutout Justin NW 45-0. Washington State commit Demarcus Ayers accounted for five touchdowns as on-rushing Lancaster man-handled Mansfield Lake Ridge 70-6. Oklahoma commit Cody Thomas threw for 240 yards and three scores as Colleyville Heritage beat Irving 55-24. Arlington Martin’s kicker Ben Grogan kicked six field goals including three over 50 yards as Martin beat North Crowley 47-7. Cleburne won a 61-59 shootout over Burleson Centennial, but not before Centennial junior Demarcus Williams rushed for 306 yards on 28 carries, scoring five times, and tallying a sixth score on a pass reception. Kennedale smotherd Diamond Hill-Jarvis 83-0 with eight different players scoring touchdowns and holding DH to just 15 yards total offense. Frisco Wakeland beat Richardson 61-24 as Jackson Lamb threw for 342 yards and five tds. Zach Shelley rushed for 205 yards and five touchdowns on just nine carries in a win over Hillcrest. Chris Warren rushed for 246 yards and six touchdowns as Rockwall beat Rowlett 41-27. Bryan Driskell’s 55 yard dash to paydirt with 9:29 remaining enabled McKinney Boyd to edge Plano 15-14. Driskell, who ranks second in DFW in rushing had 145 yards on 24 carries. Ke’aun Kinner rushed for 339 yards and four scores to lead Little Elm past Frisco Heritage 35-28. Prosper beat The Colony 47-21 with TX Tech commit Davis Webb throwing for 329, rushing for 81 and accounting for six evenly divided touchdowns. Sherman’s Dru Smith completed 20/22 passes for 377 yards and five touchdowns as the Bearcats beat Royse City 56-28. In the biggest shootout in the metroplex, TCA beat Prestonwood 63-47. TCA QB Daniel Davidson threw for 484 yards and eight touchdowns, while Preston QB Mickey Mitchell passed for 446 yards and four touchdowns.

HOUSTON:
Manvel rolled over Pasadena 70-3 with Shane McCarley (Old Dominion commit) throwing for 354 yards and seven touchdowns. Carlos Thompson hauled in six passes for 180 yards and 3 touchdowns. Bryce Peters rushed for 150 yards and two touchdowns on just eight carries as Cy Falls beat Cy Lakes 59-21. Top ranked Katy rolled, scoring 24 unanswered points to beat Seven Lakes 35-13. Tomball shutout Spring Woods 56-0 as Xavier Powell rushed for 153 yards on just seven carries and Demetri Scott rushed for 163 on just three carries. Yates beat Furr 50-28 with Arthur Lockett rushing for 234 yards and four touchdowns. Dayton shutout Porter 49-0 as Markain Chambers passed for 375 yards and four scores and rushed for 71 and one more. Junior Aaron Sharpe completed 13-16 for 190 yards and two scores to lead Summer Creek to a 49-5 win over Humble. Pearland rolled over South Houston 63-6, with Hayden Cole scoring four touchdowns on the ground. Ft. Bend Travis beat Austin 49-28 with Teagan Nehls compleing 17/21 passes for 281 yards and six touchdowns. Ridgepoint beat Willowridge 52-19 with Jemarcus Johnson rushing for 223 yards and five touchdowns.

CENTEX:
Hendrickson beat Pflugerville 32-7 in the “Battle of the Ville”(both are 5A) as junior Samaje Perrine rushed for 226 yards and three touchdowns. The third Pflugerville school, 4A Connally wiped out Elgin 46-6, with QB Dajon Williams (North Texas commit) completing 8/11 for 156 yards, while rushing for 153. RB LaDaedrix Payton rushed for 145 yards and four touchdowns for the Cougars. Lake Travis used a school record four field goals by Kevin Marcotte to beat Anderson 40-10, but lost star junior RB Shaun Nixon to injury. Leander rallied from a 10-0 halftime deficit to edge Vista Ridge 20-10. Sophomore RB Darian McClatcher made his debut, rushing for 135 yards and two tds. Westlake beat Del Valle 31-9 with Jr. QB Trevor Severt passing for four touchdowns. Smithson Valley scored a surprisingly easy 45-14 win over Judson, holding Rocket RB Jarveion Williams to just 36 yards. Marquis Warford was back in action for Madison, accounting for 215 all purpose yards and four touchdowns as the Mavericks scored on their first seven possessions to beat Lee 56-7. Steele shutout South San 63-0 to keep a regular season winning streak alive. The Knights haven’t lost since facing Johnny Manziel and Kerrville Tivy in September of 2010.
Refugio rolled by Hebronville 77-0 with QB Travis Quintanilla enjoying an “off night” with only 240 yards passing.

WEST TEXAS:
The two top 1A stars in West Texas had big nights. Hagen Hutchinson of Stamford passed for 336 yards and five tds and rushed for one as Stamford beat Haskell 63-6. Munday’s Dee Paul accounted for 201 yards and five scores as the Moguls remained unbeaten with a 67-0 shutout of Petrolia. Midland Greenwood’s Kam Williams passed for 251, rushed for 126 and accounted for four touchdowns in a 31-13 win over Sweetwater. Abilene Cooper junior Lorenzo Joe (Texas commit) passed for 151 yards and accounted for four touchdowns as the Cougars shut out Tascosa 42-0. Permian won a 48-38 shootout with San Angelo Central, with Mojo RB Jorrion Wilson rushing for 255 yards and five scores, while Bobcat QB Mickey Scott passed for 361 yards and four scores. Anson beat Winters 61-25 as QB Jalen Garza passed for 373 yards and six touchdowns and accounted for another on the ground.

In El Paso Aaron Jones rushed for 197 yards and three scores to lead Burges to a 33-20 win over Austin. Patrick Pettis hauled in seven passes for 118 yards and two tds to lead Haks to a 63-41 win over Canutillo. Marcos Hernandez rushed for 269 yards and five touchdowns and also totaled 83 yards of receptions as Franklin beat Americas 41-10.

EAST TEXAS:
Lufkin blasted Bryan 47-7 with Tyler Stubblefield throwing for 264 yards and three scores. Mt. Pleasant beat Marshall 63-14 as Montravious James threw for 277 and four scores, and rushed for 117 and three more. Whitehouse edged Jacksonville 42-35, with QB Patrick Mahomes throwing for 242 yards and four scores. In a losing cause Jacksonville QB Carter McCown(does that name sound familiar?) passed for 394 yards and four scores, while WR D.D. Franklin caught nine balls for 238 yards and five touchdowns. Kilgore remained unbeaten with a 31-8 win over Gladewater, overcoming a slow start to roll up 251 total yards after halftime. Winnsboro upset Eustace 40-16, totaling nearly 500 yards of offense. Longview lost a tight one to Mesquite Horn 25-17, as Horn QB Destri White totaled 339 yards of offense. Troup upset Tatum 10-7 and Bullard rallied from 7 down in just seven minutes left, to beat Chapel Hill 42-41 in double overtime.
