CENTRAL TEXAS:
Lake Travis defense held Westlake without a touchdown and forced two critical turnovers inside their own five to come from behind to beat the Chaps 14-11 to claim the District 15 5A championship. Trailing 11-7 with just over four minutes to go, LT stopped Westlake on a fourth and two at their four yardline and two plays later Baker Mayfield scrambled away from the rush to find Sophomore Grant Foster behind the Westlake secondary for a 96 yard touchdown pass.

Georgetown remains unbeaten in Class 4A, shutting out Pflugerville Connally 34-0 as Jake Hubenak accounted for three touchdowns and 315 yards passing. Pflugerville Hendrickson claimed the 16-5A championship in their first year in Class 5A, beating McNeil 35-20 with junior Samaje Perrine rushing for 214 yards and two scores. Cedar Park clinched a title share in Class 25-4A, giving up only 114 yards and forcing three turnovers in a 17-10 showdown with Vista Ridge. Randon Knotts had a hand in five touchdowns and 299 yards of total offense as LBJ doubled up Travis 56-28. Marble Falls edged Dripping Springs 38-35 on a last second field goal. Mike Richardson, who several weeks ago set a state record with 724 yards passing, completed 22/35 for 304 yards, finding junior receiver Garrett Gray on 10 passes for 154 yards and two scores. In another duel of Hill Country QB’s, Hays’ Caleb Kimbro had 399 yards total offense to offset Boerne Champion’s Kyle Poeske, who threw for 486 yards and four scores as the Rebels edged Champin 49-46. Refugio, top-ranked in 2A cruised by Kingsville 70-0 with junior QB Travis Quintanilla completing 15/18 for 353 yards and six scores. Devine’s Jordan Fraga, another Ford Player of the Week, rushed for 454 yards and eight touchdowns as the War Horses beat Carrizo Springs 61-29.

Steele, Brandeis, and Smithson Valley all remain unbeaten in San Antonio 5A. Steele shutout Corpus Christi Carroll 38-0 , with Justin Stockton rush for 191 yards. Brandeis shut out Marshall 43-0 with Trinton Inclan rushing for 121 yards and three scores and Smithson Valley beat New Braunfels 42-27. Elijah Ball rushed for 330 yards and three touchdowns to lead Reagan past Churchill 37-4. Clark’s junior RB Brandon Valle had the biggest night of all in the Alamo City, carrying 44 times for 371 yards and four scores as the Cougars kept playoff hopes alive, beating Holmes 56-45. The two teams combined for 1111 yards of offense.

HOUSTON:
Katy won its 500th football game in history, downing rival Cinco Ranch 35-21. Adam Taylor (LSU commit) carried 23 times for 265 yards and Katy put the game away, scoring twice within four minutes in the third quarter. LaPorte knocked off North Shore 27-10 to claim their second consecutive district championship. Keith Whitely carried 32 times for 179 yards and scored the two clinching touchdowns. LaMarque shut out Columbia 47-0 as defensive end Lawrence Montegut had a lineman’s dream, scoring two defensive touchdowns on a blocked punt and 63 yard fumble return. Manvel beat Pearland 42-28 with Old Dominion commit Shane McCarley throwing for 422 yards and 5 touchdowns. Ft. Bend Elkins QB Jonathan Giles threw for 424 yards and five touchdowns , but Elkins lost to Travis 56-41. Morton Ranch RB Deion Williams rushed for 547 yards and five touchdowns and Ranch beat Katy Taylor 56-48. Junior Jarrett Hildreth threw for 306 yards and four touchdowns , but Clear Creek lost to Brazoswood 35-28. Darrell Colbert, another jr QB, led Lamar to a 40-7 win over Bellaire, throwing for 285 yards and five touchdowns. Westfield remained unbeaten, but their strong defense gave up 239 rushing yards to Kingwood’s Cade Harrington. Reggie Turner rushed for 213 yards and two tds and Pasadena Memorial doubled up South Houston 66-33. St. Pius beat Concordia Lutheran 49-20 with Texas A&M commit Kohl Stewart throwing for 462 yards and four tds on a 23/28 night. Pearland Dawson rolled in Class 4A , shutting out Galveston Ball 56-0 and another A&M commit James White, rushed for 244 yards and four touchdowns. Former Ford Player of the Week Preston Townley threw for 370 yards and five scores to lead Huffman-Hargrave to a 39-12 win over Tarkington. Patrick Carr rushed for 269 yards and three scores to lead the Woodlands past rival College Park 42-23. Cy Fair and Cy Falls combined for 979 total yards and Fair won on a 33 yard pass from Logan Taylor to Ryan Bradshaw on the last play of the game. Jeremiah Williams rushed for 188 yards and four touchdowns as Langham Creek beat Cy Ridge 37-21 in another game with over 900 total offensive yards. Friendswood’s Jordan Woods had 344 total yards and four td’s as the Mustangs shutout Baytown Lee 47-0.

West Texas:
1A’s top-ranked Munday remained unbeaten, crushing Era 82-0 with SMU commit Dee Paul scoring on the ground, the air, an interception return, and a punt return. Albany spanked Cross Plains 73-23 with RB Jake Bumguardner rushing for 279 yards and ix touchdowns. Midland Greenwood’s Kam Williams rushed for 245 yards and three tds, and passed for 62 yards and another two scores as Greenwood beat Big Spring 34-20. Aaron Jones has 159 yards rushing and three tds in a a 42-21 El Paso Burges win over Bowie. Andress WR Eddie Siegal had six catches for 272 yards in a 40-26 win over El Paso High. EP Americas Isak Washington rushed for 281 yards and 3 td’s in a 49-20 win over Ed Dorao. WR Quinton Childs had 10 catches for 241 yards in a losing cause.

DFW:
Defending 5A champion Southlake continued tuning up for the playoffs with a 70-7 win over Fossil Ridge. Kenny Hill (A&M commit) rushed for 113 yards and passed for 252 before making an early exit. Colleyville Heritage shutout RL Turner 70-0, with Oklahoma commit Cody Thomas a perfect 12/12 passing for 236 yards and four scores. Desoto raced by Grand Prairie 76-35 before a number of college scouts. Oregon bound Dontre Wilson rushed for 249 yards and 4 tds. Lancaster edged unbeaten Ennis 51-44 to set up a three way tie for District 16-4A, as Washington State commit Demarcus Ayers had 192 yards and three touchdowns. Coppell captured the District 5/5A title, shutting down Denton Ryan 21-3. Skyline crushed W.T. White 70-14 , returning three interceptions for touchdowns. Allen pounded McKinney 67-14 with soph QB Kyler Murray passing for 224, rushing for 93 and accounting for four touchdowns.

Frisco LoneStar’s Will Campbell completed 18/22 passes for 274 yards and four scores to lead Lone Star past Ranchview 35-7, clinching a playoff spot. . Arlington Bowie sophomore Tony James passed for 236 yards and rushed for 109 to lead the Vols past Arlington High 38-7. Cleburne’s Quade Howard, another Ford Player of the Week, was 31/41 for 512 yards and five touchdowns as Cleburne beat Everman 59-41. WR Khalil Hall caught 13 of Howard’s passes for 203 yards and two scores. Dallas Carter scored on each of its six first half possessions to route Pinkston 48-12, with Soph QB Kenneth Spencer completing 13/16 passes for 240 yards and four touchdowns. Ke’aunn Kinner remained the hottest RB in DFW with a 345 yard/two td night as Little Elm beat Frisco Wakeland 41-17. Kimball’s Terryion Gipson rushed for 247 yards and three scores as the Knight’s took down Seagoville 42-15 and Erick Neal passed for 281 yards and five tds, and scored another two on the ground as Lincoln beat Spruce 55-6.

East Texas:
Whitehouse’s passing attack remained red-hot with a 54-28 win over Corsicana. Patrick Mahomes threw for 357 yards and five touchdowns in just three quarters of work. John Tyler spanked Nacogdoches 50-7 with former Ford Player of the Week Greg Ward totaling 369 yards and four scores. Another Ford Play of the Week Kade Clayton had 200 yards and four scores to lead Grace Community by Brookhill 20-14. Longview scored the last 38 points of the game to beat Tyler Lee 52-6. Lufkin shut out Oak Ridge 24-0, holding their opponent to a minus nine yards of total offense. Van whipped Mabank 49-7 with QB Garrett Smallwood throwing for 300 yards and four touchdowns in just the first half. Anthony Sanders completed only five passes all night, but four went for touchdowns as Athens beat Mineola 42-13. Canton rolled up 575 yards of offense in a 35-13 win over Brownsboro.
