Alief Hastings Hires Hardin-Jefferson Coach

2012 Coaching Change: Alief Hastings Bears

Old Head Coach: Greg Alexander -- Leaving after leading the Bears for the past 7 years to an overall 26-43 record. His 26 wins puts him in 2nd place all-time at Hastings for career coaching wins.

New Head Coach: David Martel -- From 3A Hardin-Jefferson where he led the Hawks to a 25-54 record over the past 8 seasons. Before going to Hardin-Jefferson he was the defensive coordinator at Alief Taylor from 2002-2004. Before that he was an assistant coach at Alief Elsik for eight seasons.

Team News: The Bears have had back to back 1-9 seasons and have gone 1-11 in district play.

    Greg Alexander never had a winning season, as his former player I don’t think his scheme worked too well there but he was a good coach and a great motivator. Much success in the future
