Brownwood Promotes DC To Replace Bob Shipley

2013 Coaching Change: Brownwood Lions

Old Head Coach: Bob Shipley -- Leaving to be a football analyst for the University Of Texas. He led the Lions to a 38-14 record over 4 seasons. He has also been a head coach at Rotan, Burnet (2001-2006 going 54-19) and Coppell (2007-2008 going 15-7). Coach Shipley led his alma mater, Burnet to a championship games in 2002 and 2003. His sons are current Texas receiver Jaxon and former Longhorns receiver Jordan who now plays for the Jacksonville Jaguars. He has an all-time coaching record of 125-46-0 which ranks him in the Top 300 in all-time coaching wins.

New Head Coach: Chuck Howard -- Has been the Lions defensive coordinator for the past four seasons.

Team News: The Lions have played in 8 state championship games winning 7 of them.
