2013 Coaching Change: La Villa Cardinals
Old Head Coach: Danny Perez -- Leaving to be the defensive coordinator at 4A Edcouch-Elsa. He led the Cardinals for 1 season going 9-2. Before that he was an assistant coach/defensive coordinator with the Cardinals for 5 seasons. He played college ball at Howard Payne University.
New Head Coach: Jose Salinas -- Was an assistant at Corpus Christi Tuloso-Midway. This will be his 2nd time to be the Cardinals head coach. He led the Cardinals from 2005-2006 to an 18-6 record. He has also been a head coach at Van Horn from 2007-2009 going 15-17. His assistant coaching stops have been at Corpus Christi West Oso, Skidmore-Tynan, Edcouch-Elsa and Orange Grove.
Team News: The Cardinals 9-2 was their 3rd best in school history (1st varsity season was 1988).
