Mike Says: The Lions are one of the smallest Class 5A schools playing in a district with some of the largest schools. They played well at times last year with a strong running game but will now need someone to step up at QB that can pass the ball to speedy WR Williams. It will be hard to improve upon last years record with the likes of Allen and Plano West in the district. They will have good athletes but will lack in depth and experience. Look for them to go 4-6 or 5-5 during the season and finish 5th or 6th in the district.

Chris Says: McKinney doesn't bring back much in the way of starters nor lettermen and that doesn't bode well for their chances in 2013. They are in a tough District 10-5A and it won't be any easier with the loss of QB, Robert Somborn. Expect the Lions to put up some good fights, but a playoff spot seems unlikely. A 5th place finish should be considered a good season.
