Notes:
* Coach Warren's father, Jim, was a Head Coach at Plains where he coached former coach, Weldon Nelms....One of his brothers is Steve Warren who is the Head Coach at Abilene

  • Mike Says: The Texans had kind of a letdown year last season for them anyway. This year they have a new head coach and are led DIST Newcomer of the year West Lambert. Their schedule is not very strong so look for them to win 8 or 9 games in the regular season and then go 1 or 2 rounds into the playoffs.
  • Chris Says:  These Texans are not the Texans from 2011 that won the state championship and Coach Doug Warren is not Weldon Nelms.  That alone, scared a lot of Texan fans - but the team is in very good hands on the field and the sidelines.   Their returners are solid on defense and if QB, Cerday can continue his growth they will be anchored on offense by himself and West Lambert.  District 27-3A will not be a cakewalk by any stretch as they will be challenged by Navarro, Canyon Lake and Boerne.  Wimberley will have a solid season and if Coach Warren can get them believing in themselves by playoff time, they could be around 3 rounds deep.
