Mike Says: The Cardinals made it to the playoffs for the 3rd consecutive year last year for the first time in school history. Each time they were knocked out in the first round so they will be looking to get over that hurdle this year. The defense brings back 9 starters but they will need to improve a lot after giving up over 33 ppg last year. Look for them to go 5-5 or 6-4 in the regular season and come in 3rd or 4th in the district. They will make the playoffs but it will probably be another first round exit.

Chris Says: Bellaire is on what appears to be an upswing. They bring back the core of their defense and that side of the ball was a challenge last season. The added experience should help the Cardinals perform better defensively. Their biggest obstacle is the fact that they face a District 19-5A opponent in the bi-district round of the playoffs. Sure, they will turn in a wining record. Sure, they will make it into the playoffs, but it will again be a short tour in the postseason.
