Likely To Repeat As Champion?

  • Denton GuyerMike Says: The Longhorns won easily last year at Guyer as both of these teams rebounded from going a combined 2-6 to start off the season to championship games in December. Guyer went 1-0 in Games Of The Week last year while Cedar Hill went 0-1. Look for a big game from Guyer QB Jerrod Heard. This game will be a lot different than last year. The WILDCATS win big 40-28!!
  • Denton GuyerChris Says:  Yay!  I love when Mike and I disagree on a game.  I'm not necessarily talking about the outcome of the W/L column - just the way this one will turn out.  Cedar Hill did graduate a lot of offensive skill, but their power last season was in shutting down powerful offenses.  With 7 returning starters on a defense that held Denton Guyer to 28 last season, I expect them to do even better this time around.  Cedar Hill's defense will hold but I'm not sure their offense can keep up.  WILDCATS take the victory 24-14!!!
  • Denton GuyerLSG Intern Zach Says: You have to like Cedar Hill, especially at home. The Longhorns are going to have one of the best defenses in the state and should make some noise in the playoffs. The only problem is Jerrod Heard. We all know he can run, but his improvement as a passer will make him almost unstoppable. With 11 other returning starters, he gets his revenge after last year’s blowout. Wildcats 35-31.
