Aledo knocked off defending Class 3A champion Stephenville 56-14 as Bearcat QB Luke Bishop threw for 248 yards and four touchdowns. Southlake Carroll and Hurst L.D. Bell took on the two Midland schools and came away with big wins. SLC pounded Midland Lee 63-14 as junior QB Ryan Agnew threw for 246 yards and three tds and rushed for 144 yds and four more tds. Colson Romano threw for 370 yards and three scores as Bell edged Midland High 49-37. Xavier Turner rushed for 269 yards and seven touchdowns to lead Birdville past Richland 46-32. Junior Dare Odeyingo rushed for 286 yards and three TDs as Irving Cistercian beat Pantego Christian 49-9. Keller Fossil Ridge beat Dallas Jesuit 63-19 with Jacob Gnacinski throwing for 393 yards and six touchdowns. North Mesquite beat Arlington Sam Houston 49-24 as Ta’Varian Luke rushed for 296 yards and fellow RB Corey Hunt rushed for 187. Kent Myers completed 17/24 passes for 346 yards and five touchdowns as Garland Sachse beat Richardson Pearce 42-16. Junior Chris Warren rushed for 169 yards and scored four times as Rockwall won a score-fest 66-34 with Rowlett. Christian Hutzler competed 19/26 for 388 yards and five TDs in a 58-14 Trinity Christian Academy win over Brownsboro. Kelton Moore had 366 yards total offense, accounting for four TD’s in a 53-26 Arlington Seguin loss to Mesquite Poteet.
On Saturday, Desoto scored 22 first quarter points and hung on to be Oklahoma power Tulsa Union 44-20, while Euless Trinity dropped a close 27-23 contest to another Oklahoma power, Jenks.
Katy shutout Alief Taylor 49-0 with Texas A&M commit Rodney Anderson rushing for 131 yards and 3 scores. Terrelle Aldridge rushed for 273 yards and three scores to lead Cy Creek past Klein Oak 51-19. Fort Bend Dulles edged Rosenberg Terry 21-14 with Remus Bulmer rushing for 276 yards and two scores. Cameryon Jackson threw for 366 yards and four scores to lead Houston Milby by Houston Northbrook 39-13. Leo Cedeno and Dionte Robinson combined for 389 yards rushing and four touchdowns to lead Baytown Lee past Pasadena Rayburn 69-28. Huffman-Hargrave beat Houston Worthing 49-37, but Worthing QB, Alfred Robertson threw for 442 yards and five scores, with Yzerick Oliver and Traveon Auzenne combining for all but 13 yards. Klein beat Katy Taylor 34-10 with David Hamm rushing for 259 yards and two scores. Junior JT Granato threw for 451 yards and 4 TDs to lead Kinkaid past Bellville 39-38. Spring Branch Memorial unveiled a long range threat as Morgan Whatley averaged over 31 yds/catch with six receptions and two scores in their 42-13 loss to Spring Westfield. Junior Tyreik Gray rushed for 119 and five touchdowns as Houston Episcopal beat Westbury Christian 54-6. On Saturday, Luke Klingler shrugged off a slow start to throw for 284 yards and three touchdowns as Cinco Ranch beat Cy Ridge 49-21. Darius Crawley had 165 yards receiving for Ridge. Texas City smashed La Marque 56-35 to win the Battle by the Bay. It was the most points scored by Texas City in the 55 year history of the game, helped along by six La Marque fumbles in the first half.
Cibolo Steele got six takeaways in the second half to defeat Converse Judson 51-34 with Texas Tech commit Justin Stockton rushing for 213 yards and 5 TDs. San Antonio Brennan’s defense held San Antonio Taft to just 144 total yards in a 49-0 shutout. San Antonio Madison beat Kerrville Tivy 42-24, scoring three TDs in a five play sequence to open the second half. QB Cody Ennis racked up 339 yards total offense and accounted for four touchdowns for the Mavericks. A&M Consolidated overcame a 27 point comeback by Waco Midway to win 44-41, despite a four touchdown passing performance by Midway’s Ben Hicks. Copperas Cove rebounded from their devastating last second loss to Consol in Week Zero to beat Waco High 70-24. Waco’s Tyler Taylor had two kickoff returns over 100 yards for the Lions. Samaje Perrine rushed for 238 yards in the first half as Pflugerville Hendrickson stunned Leander 52-0. Austin Westlake’s Jordan Severt connected with Patrick Elliott with a minute remaining as the Chapparals capped a 28 point comeback to edge Temple 45-41. Severt and Elliott connected 12 times during the game. Austin Lake Travis beat New Braunfels Canyon 20-6 with Texas A&M commit Shaun Nixon scoring all three Cavalier touchdowns. Marble Falls sophomore Brennan Wooten completed 20/26 passes for 305 yards and four scores as MF beat Smithville 69-25.
A couple of big upsets featured West Texas action. Abilene Cooper knocked off defending 4A Division II champion Cedar Park 24-21 on Zach Lehr’s 31 yard field goal as time expired. Texas commit Lorenzo Joe rushed for 163 yards and one touchdown to spark the Cougars win.. 4A Wolfforth Frenship upset 5A Odessa Permian 55-17. Junior Grant Sandercox rushed for 236 yards and scored three times for the Tigers. In a battle of both defending 1A champions, Stamford crushed Munday 61-0. Jarek Black rushed for 244 yards and three scores as Shallowater edged Littlefield 49-40. Black has been over 200 yards in every game this fall. Amarillo Caprock beat Borger 54-22 with junior QB Victor Rodriquez throwing for 269 yards and four scores.
Patrick Mahomes (Texas Tech commit) had his second consecutive 400 yd plus passing night, throwing four touchdowns in a d 42-34 win over Tyler Chapel Hill. Ben Luckett rushed for 245 yards to lead Palestine past Jacksonville 56-35. Tanner Barr continued his hot streak for Gilmer, throwing for 383 yards and six touchdowns in a 66-32 win over Prestonwood Christian. Carthage beat Lindale 45-17 with UTSA bound Blake Bogenschutz throwing for 369 yards and four touchdowns, with three of them going to Terian Goree, who hauled in 8 passes for 173 yards. Hallsville beat Van 38-26 with junior Matt Savis rushing for 242 yards and two scores. Junior JaMychal Hasty rushed for 252 yards and two TDs to lead Longview past Marshall 26-14. Arlington Oak Ridge beat Tyler Bishop Gorman 59-41 with QB Tyler Woolsey throwing for 425 yards and 2 TDs. Tyler John Tyler edged Lancaster 31-28 on Saturday on a 17 yard last second field goal by Jose Perez.
