Texas high school footballMike Says:  Wow...one of Class 3A's top teams against one of Class 4A's top teams. Another East Texas Showdown!! In last years game, Carthage mistakes led to a Whitehouse victory. The Bulldogs gave up a safety on a kickoff and had high snap on a PAT which cost them 3 points. The Wildcats one that contest by two. Wildcat QB Patrick Mahomes had 374 yards passing while completing 34 of his 49 passes. Bulldog QB Blake Bogenschutz completed 19 passes for 307 yards. Look for this years game to be about the same without the mistages. Both of those superstar QB's are back. Mahomes has passed for 1,565 yards while Bogenschutz has 1,290 yards in the air. Thats ranks them #1 and #3 in the state in passing yards. This is going to be a great one. The WILDCATS win it 48-41 on a last second touchdown!!

Texas high school footballChris Says: I am sooo looking forward to this one. Heck, I even mentioned it in my Five Big Things this week.  This is the high school football equivalent of a pitcher's duel.  Sure, these two quarterbacks won't even be on the field at the same time, but you can bet they will notice what the other is doing.  Both Blake Bogenschutz and Patrick Mahomes are having phenomenal seasons and although Carthage seems to have been tested more, I think Whitehouse is in the driver's seat once again as they attempt to even the series.  WILDCATS win 48-38!!

Texas high school footballLSG Intern Zach Says:  Great quarterback matchup here between Carthage’s Blake Bogenschultz and Whitehouse’s Patrick Mahomes. Bogenshultz has been on a tear all year, leading an impressive gamewinning drive last week against Nacogdoches. But as good as he has been, Wildcat quarterback Patrick Mahomes has been just as good or better. And with a solid defense, Whitehouse has pasting some pretty good teams. In one of their biggest games of the season, I don’t see that changing at home. Wildcats 41-24

CarthageLSG Intern William Says:  This game showcases two high-flying offenses with top tier QBs Blake Bogenschutz of Carthage and Pat Mahomes of Whitehouse who has yet to throw an interception. Both teams have had relatively easy roads so far with only a few hiccups, Whitehouse escaped Chapel Hill with an 8-point win in week 2. Carthage also had a nail-biter with a last second 44-40 win last week. This going to be a high octane game with a lot of points on the board. Bulldogs win 59-49.
