Lake Travis has already clinched a spot into the playoffs heading into a Week 9 showdown with Westlake. Bowie and Westlake are in decent shape with 3-1 marks. Bowie still has Anderson and Del Valle remaining on the schedule and will look to avoid a massive upset moving forward. There will be a mad scramble for the fourth spot between Akins, Austin High, and Del Valle. Akins, with an off-week in Week 9, has last place Anderson waiting in a game that should decide the final playoff berth. In 2012 Westlake finished 6-4 in the regular season before advancing to the 5A-Division II semifinals, including victories over Hendrickson, Longview, and Plano West. Westlake could have the same type of success in 2013.
