Gilmer BuckeyesMike Says:  This one is shaping up to look like a shootout. Gilmer comes in averaging 57.8 points per game while Chapel Hill is averaging 44.6 points. Both teams have played pretty tough schedules especially Chapel Hill who took on Class 4A's #1 team in Whitehouse and one of 3A's best in Carthage. The Bulldogs come into this game averaging over 348 yards per game. The Buckeye defense will need another solid game from SOPH DL Demarco Boyd (28 tackles 9 TFL) in order to stop that ground attack. The Buckeye offense is led by QB Tanner Barr who has thrown for 1,502 yards and 21 TDs already. Gilmer looks like a championship team. The BUCKEYES win it 48-37!!

Gilmer BuckeyesChris Says: We may have them 20 spots apart in the rankings but when these two East Texas teams clash, rankings mean nothing.  The shining moment for Tyler Chapel Hill this year is in playing a close game with an amazingly strong Whitehouse squad.  Gilmer however has not been really challenged.   If it weren't for the fact that we picked Gilmer to take the Class 3A DII title, I would probably have tried to pick up the surprise win by picking Tyler Chapel Hill, but I can't.  Jeff Traylor's BUCKEYES win a tough game 45-38!!

Gilmer BuckeyesLSG Intern Zach Says:  Tyler Chapel Hill is better than their 3-2 record – the Bulldogs just play a tough schedule. Unfortunately it doesn’t get much easier here. Gilmer is a very good football team with a legitimate claim to being the best in 3A. The Buckeyes are so explosive on both sides of the ball that they have a great shot to win out in the state’s most difficult district. Buckeyes 49-28.

Gilmer BuckeyesLSG Intern William Says:  On paper this game looks like it should be a good game. Both teams have quarterbacks that lead their respective teams in both passing yards and rushing yards. But where Tyler Chapel Hill lacks Gilmer exceeds. QB Andrew Back has thrown for 778 yards and 6 TDs. QB Tanner Barr has thrown for 1502 yards and 21 TDs. Chapel Hill has exceeded on the ground this year scoring 16 total touchdowns from the rush. The passing attack of Gilmer will be too much to handle. Gilmer won last year 50-28 and I think they’ll win again. Buckeyes win 45-30.

Gilmer BuckeyesLSG Intern Scott Says: Gilmer is Gilmer once again, led by sure-handed quarterback Tanner Barr and a plethora of blue-chip talent around him. Meanwhile, junior Kris Boyd is calmly averaging over 11 yards a carry and has six rushing touchdowns. Chapel Hill is better than its 3-2 record indicates having lost to Carthage and Whitehouse. Despite its tough schedule, Chapel Hill averages eight yards per carry as a team. Gilmer is just too good and is a serious candidate to run the table this season. Gilmer claims this one, 48-20.
