Texas high school footballMike Says: A re-match from last years Division II Championship game. Katy was our pre-season #3 team while Cedar Hill was our pre-season #9 team. Katy of course will feature a very young but good defense and a strong running game led by two underclassmen. RB Rodney Anderson a Junior has 1,763 yards and 32 TDs rushing and RB Kyle Porter a Sophomore has 1,873 yards and 23 TDs rushing. Cedar Hill is led by underclassmen also. Juniors QB Justin McMillan and WR Damarkus Lodge make up a high scoring combination. The key will be can their defense stop the Katy rushing attack. Their defense averages 11 tacklers for loss per game led by Xavier Washington. They will need that and more to win this one. Cedar Hill wants revenge but Katy is too good. The TIGERS win their 2nd consecutive and 8th overall state championship in their record breaking 12th championship game 35-24 (see last years championship game)!!

Texas high school footballChris Says: Katy has a better team than they did last year despite many people suggesting it was a rebuilding season prior to opening day.  Well, the Tigers have been proving those doubters wrong all season so it is unlikely anyone still doubts.  Cedar Hill has another really solid team and would likely be 3-0 in championship games had they not run into the Katy buzz saw the last two seasons.  The TIGERS take the championship again and continue to shatter championship records 37-27!!

Texas high school footballLSG Intern William Says: A rematch from the 5A Div. II state championship last year this game looks like a mirror image of last years. Cedar Hill despite losing a lot of skill players last year have revamped and look just like last year’s squad. For Katy while they lost a few players they haven’t lost their running game which is led by senior Rodney Anderson while the Cedar Hill group may be better than last years. Same can be said about Katy. Katy wins 38-27.

Texas high school footballLSG Fan Poll Says:  Once you reach the championship round of games, you should have close contests - right?  Well, not if you believe what the LSG Fan Poll says.  Katy (87%) is a dominant favorite over Cedar Hill (13%.)  In fact, this is the most lopsided of all the championship games.  LSG fans are saying that it would literally take a miracle for Cedar Hill to take the title.  TIGERS win it - the fans have spoken!
