Top 5 Offensive Players in the DFW Area

#5 Carlos Strickland, WR, Dallas Skyline, 6’5, 195

One of the deadliest threats in the redzone is a tall receiver, somewhere Strickland thrives because of his size. Last year he hauled in 33 catches for 719 yards and 10 touchdowns. Tall and thin Strickland is your typical vertical threat that every college craves. Apart of the Division I pipeline at Dallas Skyline that was knocked out in the Regional round of the playoffs. Undecided, some top schools looking at Strickland are Alabama, Clemson, LSU, Ohio State, and Oklahoma State.

#4 Ronald Jones II, RB, McKinney North, 6’0, 185

A quick running back that seems to get yards in chunks Jones was named the 13-4A Most Valuable Player last year while running for 2,406 yards and 39 touchdowns also earning him a spot on the All-State 1st Team by the Texas Sports Writers Association and an Honorable Mention by APSE. While McKinney North only made it to the 2nd round of the playoffs Jones was an Honorable Mention for All-Area. Jones committed to Oklahoma State earlier this year in April.

#3 Soso Jamabo, RB, Plano West, 6’3, 210

Jamabo jumped onto the scene two years ago when he rushed for 1,697 yards and 24 touchdowns his sophomore year (earning him Honorable Mention by the APSE), but because of a heavily talented backfield the running back ran for 1,077 yards and 10 touchdowns last year with over 100 less rushing attempts. Jamabo has always been a passing threat out of the backfield, making him a duel-threat in that regard. Jamabo will have the reigns in the backfield this year so look for him to explode once more. Teams such as Baylor, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Texas have been heavily recruiting this talented player.

#2 DaMarkus Lodge, WR, Cedar Hill, 6’2, 190

A potent player on any down Lodge helped Cedar Hill push their way to a 5A Division II State Championship. Lodge would pull in 72 passes for 1,255 yards, and 22 touchdowns over the course of last year earning him All-State 1st Team by TSWA and Honorable Mention by the APSE. Lodge excels in the vertical passing game with size, speed, and hands Lodge can do damage anywhere on the field. Lodge committed to Texas A&M last month.

#1 Kyler Murray, QB, Allen, 5’10, 185

One word. Electrifying. With what he lacks in size Murray makes up for with a big arm and quick legs. Murray first turned heads his sophomore year throwing for 2,004 yards and 17 touchdowns and rushing for 1,342 yards and 25 touchdowns on his way to lead Allen to the Class 5A Division I Championship. Murray would follow up his sophomore year by throwing for 3,669 yards and 46 touchdowns, rushing for 1,274 yards and 19 touchdowns, and leading Allen to another 5A Division I State Championship. He also started getting recognized nationally winning the Gatorade Player of the Year Award, was named District MVP in 10-5A, All-State 1st Team by the TWSA and All-State 2nd Team by the APSE. Murray committed to Texas A&M late in May of this year.
