These two schools met for the first time in the regular season last year with La Porte winning 37-13. They have met 3 times in the playoffs…all 3 times in Bi-District play and all 3 times La Porte won.

Mike Says: These are two pretty surprising teams. Who would have thought that both of them would have victories over Galena Park North Shore at this time. The Houston area is buzzing over this game but I don’t think they are the best in the Houston area. It will be a good one though. Port Arthur Memorial will get revenge for all of those losses to La Porte. The TITANS win 28-21!!!
Chris Says: This is a tough one to handicap. Both teams are taking care of business and both teams are eeking out some surprisingly close games. In the end, it will be the offense of Port Arthur Memorial that will be the difference as the TITANS win 34-21!!!

La Porte 38, Galena Park North Shore 30
The La Porte Bulldogs ended a 13 game losing streak against the Mustangs. The had led this game 24-0 with just a few minutes led until half time but af the half the score was 24-14. The Mustangs looked to have controll when they made it 24-23 in the 3rd. The Bulldogs did not fold though as they score 2 touchdowns to make it 38-23 with 4:50 left in the game.

Katy 45, Houston Memorial 0
Katy had another dominating performance and LSG was there!! The Tiger defense held Memorial to 103 total yards for the game. It was their 2nd consecutive and 3rd overall shutout on the season. They have only give up 30 points total for the season. Katy improves to 8-0 for the season and 5-0 in district play. The Mustangs fall to 5-3 overall and 3-2 in district. Wide Receiver Jordan Thompson caught 3 passes for 67 yards and 1 touchdown in the game. Their kicker Jeff Johnson kicked 5 extra points on the afternoon. For the season, Thompson now has 48 receptions for 903 yards and 13 touchdowns. For his career, Johnson now has 140 extra points. See more about the Katy Tigers.

Mike Says: This series has been pretty close lately even though Montgomery has not won any of the games. Their last 4 games have been decided by a total of 23 points. Montgomery lost 2 weeks ago to Magnolia West while Brenham beat West by 34. The Bears are at home but the Brenham offense led by QB Dean Havemann (1090 yards 19 TDs), RB Klartel Claridy (919 yards 9 TDs) and WR Tremund Moore (39-580 12 TDs) will be hard to stop. The CUBS win 42-17!!!
Chris Says: Sometimes there are Games of the Week that on paper appear to be a total mistake. I mean, come on – Montgomery has lost all 16 meetings between these teams. But wait… there is something different this year. 1 – The Bears are 5-1 this time around and their only loss is to another 5-1 team. 2 – The Bears are putting up serious points while giving up very few. 3- The Cubs barely beat them (31-26) the last time they faced off . In the end, the experience of the Brenham program will be the difference though as the CUBS win it 35-21!!!
