2012 Coaching Change: Victoria East Titans
Old Head Coach: Mickey Finley — Retiring after leading the Titans for their only 2 seasons in varsity play. He has led them to an overall 18-7 and 2 consecutive playoff runs. Finley was also head coach at Victoria Memorial from 2007-2009 going 11-19. He was head coach at Cuero from 1992-1998 going 69-23-2 over 7 seasons. He was also at Schulenburg in 2006 going 11-1. Finley ends his career with an all-time coaching record of 214-149-3. This ranks him #57 on the all-time coaching wins list.
New Head Coach: Roland Gonzalez – From 5A Cypress Springs where he has led the Panthers to an overall 10-29 record over the last 4 seasons including going 0-10 last year. Gonzalez has also been the head coach at Corpus Christi Ray where he led the Texans to a 33-20 record over 5 seasons. His all-time coaching record now sits at 43-49. Before taking over as a head coach, he was an assistant at Stephenville under Art Briles.
Team News: The Titans have gone 18-7 in their first two seasons of playing varsity ball after Victoria Memorial was split up into 2 schools.

The Associate Press Top 10 polls for Texas high school football are out. Longview jumped up 7 spots into the 5A Top 10, Stephenville dropped several slots after a loss in 4A, Tyler Chapel Hill remains #1 in 3A despite losing QB Avery Saenz, but overall there are few changes across the state’s Top 10.
Chris Doelle and “Mighty” Mike Wright have a jam-packed show that reviews some of the previous action around the state and then with the help of some great folks around the state, takes a look at this weeks action in Texas high school football.
