Refugio broke the all-time record in 2011 for most points scored in a season including the playoffs. They were the only team added to the list last year.

2012 Coaching Change: Cypress Woods Wildcats
Old Head Coach: David Jones — Leaving for 4A Kerrville Tivy. He led the Wildcats over the last 4 years to an overall 38-13 record. He has been the only head coach in the Wildcats 4 year history.
New Head Coach: Trent Faith — Has been the defensive coordinator and assistant at Cypress Creek for the past 10 years.
Team News: The Wildcats have had 8+ wins in each of its first 4 varsity seasons. They will be staying in District 17-5A with the last UIL re-alignment. The other schools in the district will be Cypress Creek, Cypress Fairbanks, Cypress Falls, Cypress Lakes, Cypress Ranch, Cypress Ridge, Cypress Springs, Jersey Village and Langham Creek.

2012 Coaching Change: Winters Blizzards
Old Head Coach: Steven Hermesmeyer — Left for 2A Comanche. He led the Blizzards to a 25-21 record over the past 4 years. That was his first head coaching position.
New Head Coach: Adam Bright — Was the defensive coordinator at Amarillo Caprock. He has also been an assistant at Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
Team News: The Blizzards have gone 17-8 over the past 2 seasons. They will be moving to District 4-1A Division I from 13-1A Division I with the last UIL re-alignment. The other schools in the district will be Anson, Forsan, Haskell and Stamford.

2012 Coaching Change: Louise Hornets
Old Head Coach: Brent Tritschler – Leaving to be the assistant athletic director and an assistant coach at 2A Boling. He led the Hornets to a 1-9 record in his only season. Before taking over as head coach he was the Hornets offensive coordinator. He has also been an assistant at Altair Rice Consolidated.
New Head Coach: Danny Villanueva — Was an assistant with the Hornets. He has also been an assistant at Bay City, Van Horn and Corpus Christi West Oso.
Team News: The Hornets have had only 1 winning season (2007) in last 11 years. They will be moving to District 14-1A Division II from 15-1A Division I with the last UIL re-alignment. The other schools in the district will be Falls City, Pettus, Runge and Woodsboro.

2012 Coaching Change: Warren Warriors
Old Head Coach: Kevin Barbay — Leaving to be Assistant at Lamar University. He led the Warriors for the past 2 years to an overall 0-20 record. Kevin is the nephew of the late Newton coach Curtis Barbay and a cousin to Anahuac coach Darrell Barbay and Coldspring-Oakhurst coach Bryan Barbay.
New Head Coach: John Woodard — Was the defensive coordinator at 1A Ganado for the past 2 years. Before that he was the head coach at Gilmer Union Hill where he led the Bulldogs to a 4-16 record over 2 season. He has also been an assistant at Mount Pleasant.
Team News: The Warriors are on a 23 game losing streak. They will remain in District 10-2A Division I with the last UIL re-alignment. The other schools in the district will be Anahuac, East Chambers, Newton, Woodville, Kirbyville, Hardin and Kountze.

2012 Coaching Change: Cedar Park Timberwolves
Old Head Coach: Chris Ross — Leaving to be the Athletic Director for Leander ISD. He led the Timberwolves for the past 7 years to an overall 57-25 record.
New Head Coach: Joe Willis — Was an assistant coach and defensive coordinator for the Timberwolves for the past 5 years. His only other head coaching position was at 1A Iraan from 2004-2006 going 22-12.
Team News: The Timberwolves are on a 6 year winning streak going 52-20. They will remain in District 25-4A with the last UIL re-alignment. The other schools in the district will be Austin Vandegrift, Cedar Park Vista Ridge, Dripping Springs, Leander, Leander Rouse and Marble Falls.

2012 Coaching Change: Gladewater Sabine Cardinals
Old Head Coach: Jerry Baker — Retiring after leading the Cardinals for the past 4 years to an overall 7-33 record. He has also been an assistant at Lewisville, Longview Spring Hill and Daingerfield.
New Head Coach: Mark Comfort — Was an assistant at Longview, Longview Pine Tree and Longview Spring Hill.
Team News: The Cardinals have not made the playoffs in since 1985. They will remain in District 9-2A Division I with the last UIL re-alignment. The other schools in the district will be Big Sandy Harmony, Jefferson, Tatum, Troup and White Oak.

2012 Coaching Change: Gladewater Union Grove Lions
Old Head Coach: Marty Moore — Leaving after leading the Lions to an overall 37-63 record over the past 10 years. He has been an assistant at Livingston and Tyler Chapel Hill.
New Head Coach: Roger Adams — Was at 2A New Diana for the past 4 years going 17-23. His only other head coaching position was at 4A Hallsville from 1998-2004 going 45-31. He has also been an assistant at Hallsville and Kilgore.
Team News: The Lions have not made the playoffs since 1968. They will be moving to District 10-2A Division II from 9-2A Division II with the last UIL re-alignment. The other schools in the district will be Arp, Frankston, Garrison, Hawkins, West Rusk and Winona.

2012 Coaching Change: Bloomington Bobcats
Old Head Coach: Randy Perez — Resigned after leading the Bobcats for the past 2 years to an overall 1-19 record. He has also been a head coach at Corpus Christi Ray (2 years 10-12) and Austin Lanier (2 years 6-14). His all-time coaching record is 17-45. He has also worked as an assistant coach at Justin Northwest, Gonzales and Temple.
New Head Coach: Layne Elkins — Was an assistant at Cuero for the past 3 seasons. He is a Bloomington grad.
Team News: The Bobcats now have had 13 consecutive losing seasons and are on a 51 game district losing streak. They will remain in District 15-2A Division II with the last UIL re-alignment. The other schools in the district will be Cotulla, Dilley, Karnes City, Natalia, Nixon-Smiley, Poth and Stockdale
