7-5A Matchup

Coppell won the only meeting between these two schools 31-14 last season. The Cowboys won this district last year but it was Guyer who made it to the Division II Championship game. Coppell fell to Euless Trinity in the quarterfinals in a game that was voted as one of LSG's best games of the year.

Mike Says: Both of these teams played close games at Mesquite Horn and came away with wins. Denton Guyer slipped up to a pretty good Cedar Hill team in the Herbstreit Classic. In the pre-season, I had the Cowboys ranked in the Top 5. They are one of the best in the state. The problem is that come playoff time, they have to face Allen and Euless early on. The wildcats are not Allen or Euless so Coppell will have no problem. The COWBOYS win 28-17!!

Chris Says: Mesquite Horn is the only real thing the Cowboys and Wildcats have in common this year.  Guyer gave up quite a bit more points the Horn but also scored more, so it is tough to pick based on that game.  Coppell won big last year, but things are a lot different this time around.    Both teams took care of a weak sister last week, so you really can't tell anything from that either.  In the end, I think that Coppell has more guns and a stronger D - the Coppell COWBOYS take it again this season 32-21!!!
