2012 LSG Texas High School Football Team Preview — Bronte Longhorns

Team: Bronte Longhorns (6-1A DII)

Enrollment: 96 -- 6th largest in the district out of 7 schools

Coach: Kevin Burns (5 years) 40-16 at Bronte; 40-16 all-time coaching record

* Coach Burns teams have lost only 1 district game in 3 seasons
* Coach Burns brother Kade is the head coach at 1A Mason...his dad Melvin was a longtime head coach at Mason

Mike Says: The Longhorns outscored their district opponents 206-38 last season which is almost everyone in their district this year. QB Lee is back to lead their explosive offense. Look for them to go 7-3 or 8-2 in the regular season and again advance 2 or 3 rounds into the playoffs.

Chris Says: Bronte is one of those teams that chalks up the wins in the regular season. They will do that again behind their 18 returning lettermen. Coach Kevin Burns has his Longhorns believing they can take the field against anyone and win - and they respond by doing just that. After rolling through District 6-1A DII, Bronte will run into the chainsaw that is the playoffs - expect them to go three rounds before falling.
