Mike Says: Its always good to have a good East Texas rivalry game as a game of the week. These two teams are a combined 4-3 in our spotlighted games. Both started off the season with disappointing losses but have turned things around over the past 2 weeks. This will be another classic. Led by RB Tory White and DB Corey Bartley, Longview will make it 2 in a row over Lufkin. The LOBOS win it 30-24!!

Chris Says: This is a great East Texas showdown. You have to love the fact that not only is this a long-time rivalry, but it is actually a close battle. Two games separate these teams that have met more than 70 times! This time I think the spirit is behind Lufkin. A friend told me about a tshirt going around Lufkin right now stating, "Lufkin is Quick, because they were raised by an Outlaw." That sentiment brings together the old and the new as they say goodbye to the legendary John Outlaw and hello to his longtime assistant and now Head Coach, Todd Quick. Sure, Lufkin has give up more points this season, but they are doing so against a much better lineup of opponents than those faced by Longview. Yes, I am a sucker for a sentimental story and for me, Lufkin is one of those heart touching stories this season. The PANTHERS win 31-28!!!
