It’s Time!!! The Top 25 Teams of the Decade!!

Texas High School Football Teams of the DecadeIt’s that time - the moment everyone has been waiting for…the 2013 Texas High School Football Teams of the Decade. Every year, teams in the state that have been to at least one state championship within the last ten seasons are ranked according to a multitude of statistics.

Every year, statistics of over 100 teams are looked at and here’s who made the Top 25!

#25 Munday  With 88 wins and only 33 losses overall, Munday rose 11 spots after two trips to the championships.

#24 Corpus Christi Calallen  Staying strong this season, Corpus Christi Calallen remained at number 24. With an 88.89% of wins during regular season and  a 71.43% of wins in post season, they remain strong.

#23 Wimberley  Although Wimberley dropped 4 spots from last season, the team now has 96 wins and only 21 losses.

#22 Dallas Highland Park  Dropped 6 spots after not making it to the state championships since 2007.

#21 Shiner  Has risen from 22 to 21 with their last championship appearance, which was a win, in 2004.

#20 Windthorst  Although Windthorst has fallen from 18 to 20, they have had 2 championship appearances since 2006.

#19 Newton  Newton rose a solid 10 spots from last year.  The team is showing their strengths with 100 wins in the past 10 years.

#18 Abilene  Abilene also showed their strengths this season by gaining 8 spots.

#17 Refugio  Refugio is bringing the heat to the 2A division with their last championship appearance in 2011.

#16 Tatum  With 78.79% of wins in regular season and 77.14% of wins in post season, Tatum has taken their spot as number 16.

#15 Liberty Hill  Liberty Hill has shown their talents with 100 wins claiming their spot at number 15.

#14 Allen  Allen showed a lot of improvement this season by rising 23 spots and having 115 wins total.

#13 Carthage  With their last championship appearance in 2010, Carthage has risen 2 spots taking number 13.

#12 Canadian  Dropped 2 spots, but with 114 wins, Canadian take spot 12.

#11 Daingerfield  Also dropping 2 spots, 103 wins and 3 championship appearances, Daingerfield take number 11.

#10 Stratford  Rising 1 spot, Stratford takes number 10.

#9 La Marque  With their last championship appearance in 2010 in the 4A division, La Marque drops 2 spots.

#8 Mart  With 110 wins and 2 championship appearances, Mart rises 5 spots taking number 8.

#7 Celina  Although dropping 1 spot, Celina has 121 wins total taking their place at number 7.

#6 Gilmer  Continuing their rising streak, Gilmer has gone from 11 to 6 in 2 years.

#5 Aledo  Winning state championships from 2009 to 2011, Aledo takes the number 5 spot.

#4 Austin Lake Travis  With 116 wins and 19 losses total, spot number 4 goes to Austin Lake Travis.

#3 Euless Trinity  With 3 championship appearances in the past 10 years, Euless is named the number 3 team of the decade.

#2 Southlake Carroll  With 131 wins total and 4 championship appearances, Southlake Carroll dropped one spot.

Katy#1 Katy  Rising one spot, Katy takes the gold with 138 wins and 4 championship appearances.

With Southlake Carroll and Katy swapping the top two positions, it will be interesting to see who takes this next year.
