Nick Foles Represents TXHSFB As SuperBowl MVP

Nick Foles continued to show the world that Texas high school football is the absolute best, and he did it on the biggest stage: Super Bowl LII in Minneapolis! The former Austin Westlake quarterback didn't look anything like a backup as he lead his Philadelphia Eagles to their first ever Super Bowl win. Foles showed the poise of a veteran and the pinpoint accuracy created on the gridiron in the Lone Star state as he picked apart the Patriots in their 41-33 victory.

Foles completed a dream season by returning to the Eagles as a backup only to replace starter, Carson Wentz late in the season. Tagged as underdogs throughout their playoff run, Nick silenced doubter each step of the way while the Eagles knocked off the Falcons (15-10) and Vikings (38-7) to punch their ticket to the big game.

In the game, Foles threw for 373 yards and three touchdowns (106.1 QB rating.) He also became the first quarterback in Super Bowl history to throw and catch a touchdown in the same game to earn MVP honors.

His alma mater, Austin Westlake is now the only public school to have a pair of quarterback lead their teams to Super Bowls. New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees defeated the Indianapolis Colts 31-17 in Super Bowl XLIV in 2010.

In high school, Foles led his 2006 senior team to the state championship game where they fell to Southlake Carroll 43-29. He had an incredible 33 touchdown passes with only four interceptions in his senior season. For his high school career, he threw for 5,658 yards and 56 touchdowns.
