Aledo's star running back Jonathan Gray broke the all-time state record for touchdowns scored as he moved his total to 148. His record was overshadowed though as the Cavliers from Austin Lake Travis ran over the Bearcats from Aledo 62-35. The Cavaliers star receiver Griffin Gilbert caught 4 touchdown passes in the game.
For the second year in a row, this was a matchup of 4A defending champions and #1 vs. #2. Last year Aledo won 14-10. Aledo now drops to 1-2 on the season for the first time since 2005. Lake Travis travels to Kerrville Tivy next week while Aledo will go into their bye week before beginning district play at Keller Timber Creek in week #4.
Gray finished with 257 yardson 27 attempts and scored 4 TDs. His career totals are now 938 carries, 7787 yards and 148 Touchdowns.
