2012 Coaching Change: Hidalgo Pirates
Old Head Coach: Robin Kirk -- Leaving to be defensive coordinator at Houston Westbury Christian. He led the Pirates for the last 3 years to an overall 11-19 record. Before coming to Hidalgo, he coached at Houston St. Pius X.
New Head Coach: Scott Ford -- From Nacogdoches where he led the Dragons to a 4-16 record over the last 2 seasons. Before taking over from the Dragons, he coached at 5A Los Fresnos where he went 65-19 in 7 years. He also coached 1 year at 4A Joshua going 4-6. Coach Ford has also been an assistant coach at Cleburne, Killeen Ellison and Leander.
Team News: The Pirates are one of Class 4A's smallest schools with a 2010 enrollment of 991 (cutoff is 980).
