2012 Coaching Change: Boyd Yellow Jackets

Old Head Coach: J.G. Cartwright — Retiring after coaching the Yellow Jackets for the past 35 years. He ends his career with 274 wins 122 losses and 6 ties. He led the Yellow Jackets to the state championship game 3 times during his stay. His teams won the 1983 Class 2A Championship (Boyd 16, Groveton 8) and the 2004 Class 2A Division I Championship (Boyd 17, Newton 14). They were the runner ups in the 1999 Class 2A Division I Championship (Mart 40, Boyd 7). He ranks #16 on the all-time coaching wins list with his 274 all-time wins.
