2012 Coaching Change: Katy Seven Lakes Spartans
Old Head Coach: Kevin O'Keefe -- Retiring at the end of the season. He has been the only coach for the Spartans since they began varsity play in 2006. He has led them to an overall 18-42 record. Coach O'Keefe was also a head coach at Fort Bend Hightower from 2000 when they began varsity play until 2004 going 45-15 in 5 years. His other head coaching position was at Houston Spring Woods. His assistant positions have been at Alief Elsik and Houston Strake Jesuit.
New Head Coach: Lydell Wilson -- From Houston C.E. King where he has coached the Panthers for the past 2 years going 8-12. His only other head coaching position was at Rosenberg Lamar Consolidated where he led the Mustangs to an overall 50-40 record over 8 years. His 2007 Mustangs team led by Jacquizz Rogers won the Class 4A Division I State Championship. He has also served as an assistant at Fort Bend Willowridge, Galveston Ball and Victoria Stroman. He wil be the 2nd head coach in Spartans history.
Team News: The Spartans 6-4 season last year was their best record in school history and only winning season in their history. They did not make the playoffs last year and have only been to the postseason once.
