Wharton Hires Former Texas City Coach Tim Finn

2012 Coaching Change: Wharton Tigers
Old Head Coach: Brad Wright -- Leaving for 4A Waller. He led the Tigers to a 6-7 record. He was the head coach at Texas State University from 2007-2010 going 23-23. He was also the head coach at Karnes City 1997-1998 (10-10), East Bernard 1999 (8-4) and New Braunfels Canyon 2000-2003 (18-24). He now has an all-time high school coaching record of 42-45-0.
New Head Coach: Tim Finn -- From 4A Texas City. He led the Stingarees for the past 11 years to an overall 68-49-0 record. Before taking over as head coach, coach Finn was an assistant with the Stingarees.
Team News: The Tigers are on a 5 year losing streak. They will move from District 29-3A to 25-3A with the last UIL re-alignment. The other schools in the district will be Bellville, Columbus, El Campo, Needville, Royal and Sealy.
